Gratuity Tips are gratefully appreciated but are at the absolute option of the wedding couple. Couples can elect to provide the original marriage license form to Randall when he arrives on the wedding day or at the rehearsal for the wedding (which is optional). Randall must be given the original marriage license form before the wedding ceremony can be performed. Randall does not expect to be paid on the wedding day. An Invoice for his services are sent by email in the days that follow the wedding and can be paid by either cash, cheque, Interac e-payment, or by making use of a Visa or MasterCard.

Obtaining an official "legal document" government-issued version of your marriage certificate is a straight forward process. In Saskatchewan this process involving the Vital Statistics office (eHealth). You can visit their offices during business office hours or you can complete the "Application for Marriage Certificate" form. The current fee for a government-issued version as shown is available for a fee of $35.00

One of Regina's worst-kept secrets is the Kiwanis Waterfall Park. Located on Regina Avenue and Elphinstone, about five blocks east of the Lewvan (and Regina's Airport); the park is a picture-perfect setting for small to mid-size wedding ceremonies. Kiwanis Park is a public park that is cared for by the City of Regina. Couples can book the use of this small cozy park for one-hour time periods. There is power available for sound systems as well. The park is serviced by two separate parking lots, and there is an upper park area that is perfect for small family picnics.

The park is an ideal setting for weddings involving a guest list of four to fifty participants; parking, and availability becomes a factor as the guest list grows. One factor to take into consideration is that the falling water creates a lot of background noise that is challenging for larger groups of people to hear. If you are conducting a wedding service with over 20 guests, you make wish to consider rental sound equipment for the wedding service.

Reservations for the park are handled by the City of Regina.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2910341239948057128.post-71620076233652720222022-05-31T23:47:00.000-06:002022-08-17T16:46:45.594-06:00Wedding Venue: The “Wascana Bandshell” in Wascana Centre near Royal Saskatchewan Museum
Regina Garden Associates, in conjunction with the City of Regina, maintain the Regina Floral Conservatory from the Tuesday after Labour Day to mid June. Bursting with tropical plants, exotic trees, and brilliant blooms September through June, the Conservatory extends a warm welcome to visitors. Floral displays change regularly and feature seasonal offerings set in the tranquility of lush greenery, the therapeutic scent of moist air and the soothing sounds of a gentle waterfall. The facility was established by the City of Regina during the 1950's as a cluster of three greenhouses to grow plant material to beautify the city. A portion of this operation was later opened to the public so that the people of Regina could enjoy an indoor greenspace. In 1991, a volunteer organization called the Regina Garden Associates (RGA) was formed to operate a small gift shop at the entrance to the public floral display. In 1999 the City of Regina formed a partnership with the RGA to maintain a 315 square meter greenhouse display, oversee special events and run the gift shop. In 2002 the greenhouse officially became known as the Regina Floral Conservatory. Entry is free of charge. All charitable donations are greatly appreciated. Wheelchair accessible. Ample free parking.

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";">Many wedding
organizers leave the choice of the music for the wedding service to chance. Here are some suggestions to consider.

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";">Processional Music (Bringing in the Bride….):

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";">Processional music
is the music that you and your wedding party will walk down the aisle to. You can have one song for everyone, or choose
a separate song for your grand entrance. At the end of the ceremony, you and
your new husband leave the venue to your recessional music, which tends to be
more upbeat than the processional. There are traditional choices for both of
these pieces of music, but we’ve given you a couple of options to consider.
Listen and enjoy!

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";">Bridal Chorus (by Wagner)

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";">Often known as
"Here Comes The Bride", this piece of classical music is the
traditional choice for the procession of the bride, and is often played on an
organ.

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";"> Canon
in D (by Pachelbel)

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";">This gorgeous
piece of music sounds beautiful played by a traditional violin or on classical
guitar. This piece has the advantage
that it cycles on itself. No need to
worry about timing as you do not know when it finishes…..the finish is just a
fading down of of melody.

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";"> A
Thousand Years<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";"> (by The Piano Guys, originally performed by Christina
Perri)

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";">Often couples
can’t decide between a classic instrumental or a more modern love song with
vocals for their processional music. Why not get the best of both worlds with
an instrumental cover of one of your favourite songs? The Piano Guys make this
modern melody a classic.

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";">Marry Me (by Train)

<span style="font-family: "cambria" , "serif";">If you want a
modern song but aren’t sure what sort of thing to go for, then we think this a
great choice. The melody and lyrics are both beautiful, and the tempo isn’t too
fast for a processional.

popular modern choices – and with good reason! After all, you and your new
There are a few indicators that a PA system is needed:

1. Your audience count is approaching 70 or more persons. A good rule of thumb is that 70 guests is the point you should start to consider using a PA system.

2. The number of aisles for seats for your guests are eight rows long or longer. Most church pews are three feet distance from pew to pew and even if your guests are sitting in folding chairs, they’ll still take up about the same amount of space. So eight rows puts your back row of guests twenty four feet (24') from the front. That’s too far to hear well with the simple spoken voice; especially for those people in the back that are hard of hearing.

3. Your ceremony is planned to be held outdoors. Outdoor weddings are beautiful but they’re twice as hard to hear as indoor weddings. Inside, sound reflects and bounces back. Outside, it disappears into the wind. Remember you’ll also have the sounds of nature to compete with at your outdoor ceremony (cars driving by, etc.)

What is you need to start?

You will be surprised how inexpensively you can rent the following items from your local musician supply store (like St. Johns Music or Long & McQuade):

1. One wired microphone with an on/off switch. The most common microphone found in hotels is the Shure SM-58. Avoid wireless microphones if possible. They may seem convenient but your introduce challenges like having proper line of sight with the RF receiver and the life span of batteries for the microphone. The use of microphone stand is optional. The SM-58 does a pretty good job of coping with windy conditions as well. It is a rugged and robust microphone that has been in active service for decades.

2. Two 200 watt PA speakers with 1/4" Jack cabling works reasonably well. These type of speakers work best elevated on tripods. You really only need two at most wedding services. Avoid use of wireless speakers. The problem with wireless devices is the RF (radio frequency) signals are blocked by water. People are made up of 60% water and therefore when a person is in the line of sight of a wireless devices and the wireless antennae, the device will lose signal and you will get a static sound over the PA system. Wired technology is reliable and safe. It is preferred in a setting like a wedding; especially if the ceremony is being held out of doors. The speakers should be place in front of the wedding party to avoid feedback squelches.

3. One 4 channel mixer. You can patch in your IPhone to the mixer using the ear phone jack of the IPhone that attaches to the mixer using RCA jacks. If you are using an IPhone or I pad or a Tablet, just make sure that the device is resting on a flat surface and is not moved during the wedding service. Movement of the device may move the placement of the earphone jack that creates a crackling sound.
Often, as a Marriage Commissioner, I am asked to assist to pin on Boutonniere flowers onto the lapels of the tuxedos of the groom's party. I always hesitate to do this because often the flowers are made in a fragile way and literally fall apart in my hands. You can use a traditional straight pin in a horizontal manner to securely attach the flowers but photographers dislike the way the flowers look in photographs. You can affix the flowers vertically with a straight pin but soon the flowers either fall off or slip sidewards. The answer? When ordering flowers make a point of asking for magnetic clips. The BoutStik clips are best. They are even available in Regina at Growers Direct at 359 Albert Street. They are the best solution and you will not regret making the effort to get them!Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2910341239948057128.post-43176741330776347802018-10-31T16:28:00.000-06:002019-07-02T15:37:29.791-06:00Randall's Dress CodeRandall is usually attired for a wedding service in a black suit with a black shirt and tie. This is Randall's preferred appearance as a Marriage Commissioner serving in the role of being an Officiant at a wedding ceremony.

However, during summer months (June to September) it is not uncommon for temperatures to easily go over 20 degrees Celsius. In these temperatures Randall may elect to change his Dress Code to being that of black slacks, a black short sleeved shirt with a dark blue vest and tie.

Sometimes temperatures can rise above 25 degrees Celsius. In circumstances where the wedding ceremony is to be held out of doors and especially when the wedding service is to be conducted under a beating sun, then Randall may elect to use a three option for his Dress Code. He may elect to wear white slacks, a white short sleeved shirt with a white vest and tie.
Right on Wascana Lake, north of the main campus for the University of Regina, is located an unique art treasure. Joe Farford has created a art masterpiece that serves as a perfect setting for a wedding ceremony. There is room for lots of guests and ample parking available on University Drive North. Joe Farford as named this art structure "Le Jardin de L'Esprit". This is a special place that is not that well known yet easy to find and appreciate.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The wedding Processional occurs in a certain order that culminates with the bride’s arrival. All guests are seated and the processional (the music) starts. Bridal processions vary, depending on the style of the ceremony, but the traditional order of appearance is as follows:
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">
1. The Officiant arrives first.
2. The groom’s assistants and his Best Man take their places to the right (stage left)
3. Groomsmen can either take their places with the groom and best man or escort the bridesmaids down the aisle (bridesmaid on the left, groomsman on the right). If they escort the bridesmaids, they can either walk with them from the back of the ceremony site or start with the groom and meet them halfway down the aisle, escorting them the rest of the way. When they arrive at the altar, they turn to face the guests. The Groom is the last of the Groom's party to arrive.
4. Bridesmaids enter next, one by one, through the back of the ceremony site, either alone or with the groomsmen. After they arrive at the altar, they turn to face the guests. Try to line up the attendants by height, shortest to tallest on each side, with the shortest walking in first.
5. The Maid or Matron of Honor is the last of the bride’s attendants to walk down the aisle, either alone or with the best man.
6. The Ring Bearer walks in next.
7. The Flower Girl walks in just before the bride. It’s acceptable for the ring bearer and flower girl to enter together. Depending on their ages, the flower girl and ring bearer may sit with their families instead of standing with the rest of the attendants.
8. Finally the Processional music (with such possible selections as the traditional “Here comes the Bride”, or “Canon in D” by Pachelbel, or "A Thousand Years" by the Piano Guys) signal the last of the wedding party to come down the aisle. Doors open to reveal the entrance of the Bride. The Bride traditionally walks with an escort (usually a family member such as her father, mother, brother, close friend, etc) held by the left arm. Some couples choose to have the bride walk on the right so that no one is between her and the groom when she arrives at the altar.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2910341239948057128.post-80775670559804994642015-12-01T08:16:00.000-06:002016-07-05T07:18:40.269-06:00The Receiving Line.....Perfect Way to Meet Your Guests after the Recessional

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">After the wedding ceremony your guests will be eager to meet with the wedding couple to offer congratulations to them. <span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">
When does a receiving line take place? <span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">The Wedding Ring on is placed on the fourth finger on the left hand. This tradition can be traced back to ancient Roman times. Tradition has it that the Romans believed that the vein in the ring finger (the fourth finger) on the left hand ran directly to one's heart. Due to this belief, they called that vein the "vena amoris" or the “vein for love”. Naturally, to solidify a union based on love, they would place the ring on that finger that housed the vein of love to signify the romance the newly married couple shares. The ring is held by the presenter until the ring vows are completed and then the ring is placed on the finger during the ceremony. Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2910341239948057128.post-13813614887578392852015-09-01T16:56:00.000-06:002017-10-20T12:29:42.476-06:00Wedding Venue: Trafalgar Fountain (West of Saskatchewan Legislature)Trafalgar Fountain (West of Saskatchewan Legislature in the Wascana Authority)
Taking the time to plan how your wedding ceremony will be conducted is always a good idea. Having everyone informed as to what their role is as well as what is expected from them. Knowing the roles of each participant is a good place to start. Avoid making assumptions that everyone knows what to do. Weddings do not happen everyday and are, in many cases, unknown commodities for many people. REGINA -- 08-08-08 -- why wait?

Friday isn't a traditional day to wed but at least eight Regina couples decided to tie the knot for

luck on the eighth day of the eighth month of 2008. For the past year, marriage commissioner Randall Edge has received numerous requests for his services on Friday. He tried to accommodate everyone, but said four weddings a day is his limit. I took the day off because there was such a strong demand for performing ceremonies today," he said. The last ceremony he was to perform on Friday was at 9 p.m. "It's really a reflection of the fact that the Chinese culture calls for today to be a day of high

fortune," Edge said. "It's not an accident that the Olympic ceremonies started at eight minutes after

eight this morning of the eighth day of the eighth month of the eighth year of this decade. A lot of

individuals want to start off their relationship as a married couple with good fortune." His day began at 11 a.m. when he married Melissa and Aaron O'Connor in the backyard of Aaron's parents' place. The bride chose the date because eight is a lucky number in Chinese tradition. "I've been fascinated by the oriental culture for years so when this date came up it was like once in a lifetime opportunity," she said. "I'm very superstitious. Aaron is not." But her new husband hopes the date will be to his advantage. "That's an anniversary date that I think I can manage to remember," Aaron said.

The weekend will be memorable for Aaron's family as his brother Tyler will marry Erin Heisler in

Qu'Appelle today. Aaron and Tyler's mother, Grace O'Connor, made both wedding cakes. She was burning the midnight oil on Thursday as she completed Tyler and Erin's wedding cake.

"It's been a little hectic and we have the rehearsal tonight," she said after Aaron and Melissa's

wedding ceremony. Lawyers Melanie Hodges and Robin Neufeld were married by Judge Diane Morris on Friday afternoon at the Regina Floral Conservatory. The couple chose the date last year when they got engaged on Melanie's birthday. "We randomly picked Aug. 8 because my birthday is Aug. 1 and Robin's birthday is Aug. 15 - so we figured that we'd remember Aug. 8," Hodges said. "It was just a date between our birthdays, but we're happy that it was 08-08-08. It wasn't because of any superstition, but we'll take any luck that we can get."Unknownnoreply@blogger.com
